BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- An event planned for the Broome County Public Library has sparked a lot of controversy on social media.
According to WBNG-TV News in Binghmaton, the Broome County library's new "Drag Queen Story time" is scheduled for Saturday. At the event, male volunteers will dress up as princess characters and read stories.
Many people in Broome County commented on the library's Facebook page. Some called the event "not appropriate" for children. Some have defended the theme by saying it is a "fantastic event".
Those who work at the library say they have received a lot of feedback from those who are either for or against it.
