CAMPBELL, N.Y. -- The Campbell community is filled with school spirit this week after a special event.

Wednesday night was an evening of high-flying, slam-dunking family fun for the Harlem Wizards visit.

The basketball show group was at the Campbell-Savona High School for the fundraising event, organized by the Student Council.

"Well, we were finding a way to increase school prep in our school and trying to get everybody to have some pride, so we thought of the Wizards and we've been working on this for about a year now," says 11th grade Student Council member Elizabeth Whightman.

"Our goal is that this is a really fun event that families are excited to be here, that students are excited to come to this and that everyone leaves just feeling proud to be a part of this school community," says Lauren Spaulding, Student Council Advisor.

The Wizards spent the night performing tricks, engaging with the audience and getting some help from the "Wiz Kids."

"It's been so much fun seeing people come buy tickets and talk about how excited they are to see the game and seeing people take pictures and laugh with each other. It's been a really good time," Whightman says.

Money raised from the event is going to go back to the Student Council. Members say they plan to use the funds towards healthy vending machines and more school pride efforts.
