CORNING, NY (WENY) -- We now know the identity of a 26-year-old man who passed away on the Corning Community College campus from a suspected overdose last week.

According to a campus memo obtained by WENY News, the student is identified as Marshall Fladd, a sophomore STEM major at CCC. As WENY first reported, State Police responded to the campus in the early morning hours of March 1st for a report of two unconscious people. Emergency responders unsuccessfully tried to revive Fladd with naloxone, an overdose antidote.

A second person at the scene, a 21-year-old female student, was able to be revived. College authorities said in the memor she's been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.

The College announced it is offering counseling services to students, faculty and staff.
