Bath Man Charged After Allegedly Driving While Intoxicated, Having Weapons in Car

BATH, N.Y. (WENY) – Deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff's Office arrested a 37-year-old Bath man on DWI and Criminal Possession of a Weapon charges.

According to police, Joseph Chely II was allegedly driving on East William Street Extension and State Route 415 while intoxicated.

Chely also allegedly has had his license or operating privileges revoked nine times.

Additionally, Chely allegedly possessed a loaded 30 round high capacity magazine and metal knuckles.

Chely was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, driving with .08% of more alcohol in blood, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Second Degree, an open container of alcohol in the motor vehicle and failure to keep right.

Chely was also charged with with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree.

Chely was arraigned in Campbell Town Court and send to the Steuben County Jail on $2500 cash bail.
