ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Tanisha Logan-Lattimore and Claude Oliver are competing for the democratic nomination We sat down with both candidates to discuss the race. For Logan-Lattimore, she it would be an honor win and be one of the first women of color in the Chemung County legislature.
"The tide is changing, the world is changing and certain things need to change with it,(flash) And so that would be mind blowing actually and I'd be honored," says Logan-Lattimore.
Oliver also spoke on the importance of diversity in politics. He says, if elected he would expand upon the projects he is already involved in. For him, a big part of those projects is making sure all voices in the community are heard.
Primary voting is taking place from 12pm until 9pm today, September 13th. Every vote counts so make sure you go out and make your voice heard.
