Texas police officer facing charges in Sodus double murder

SODUS, N.Y. (WENY) – A third person has been arrested in connection to a double homicide in the Village of Sodus, ABC affiliate 13WHAM reports.

34-year-old Bron Bohlar was reportedly arrested in connection to the October 22 murders of Joshua Niles and Amber Washburn. Earlier, Charlene Childers, who police say is the mother of Niles' children, was charged with conspiracy in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon. Childers' husband, Timothy Dean, was charged with first degree murder, two counts of second degree murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

According to 13WHAM, Dean is currently being held in Texas on unrelated charges.

The Village of Sodus was on lock down for several says while police searched for the suspect after Niles and Washburn were shot dead in the driveway of their home.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, police arrested Bohlar at his home in Dumas, Texas. 13WHAM reports Bohlar is a police officer in Sunray, Texas. Dean was reportedly the former police chief of that same department.

Bohlar has been charged with conspiracy and is being held in Texas without bail as he awaits extradition to Wayne County.
According to Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts, the extradition process will begin once Dean is officially arrested. Childers is in the Wayne County Jail as a fugitive from justice. Police say she was in Texas at the time of the murders.

Wayne County deputies and police in Texas are still investigating the case.
