UPDATE: Missing Athens woman found dead

UPDATE (1:30 p.m. 1/8/19) - The Athens Borough Police Department and the Bradford County Coroner have confirmed to WENY News that the body of 73-year-old Isabelle Johnson was found dead Monday. 

Officials say Johnson was found by the Athens Borough Fire and Police Departments while performing a grid search in a large field owned by Johnson Farms in the borough. 

Johnson had reportedly left her apartment and was last seen walking to an unknown destination on Saturday. 

According to medical records Johnson suffered from Alzheimer's and dementia. An autopsy has been scheduled to establish a cause of death. The investigation is ongoing and will be carried out by the Athens Borough Police Department and the Bradford County Coroner's Office. 

The coroner says there does not appear to be anything suspicious surrounding the incident. 

BRADFORD CO., Pa. (WENY) -- Police in Pennsylvania need your help looking for a missing endangered person.

Athens Borough Police are currently searching for Isabelle Johnson.

She's 73-years-old and was last seen walking down Church Street in Athens on Saturday at around 4:00 p.m.

Johnson is described as being approximately 5'2" and weighing 100-pounds.

We're told she has grey hair and was last seen wearing a pink winter coat and blue jeans.

Police say she may be at risk of harm or injury and may be confused.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is being asked to call Athens Borough PD at 570-888-2222.
