CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) – A Bath man was arrested on a weapons charge following a traffic stop in the City of Corning early Monday morning.

Around 12:40 a.m., Corning Police officers pulled over a car on Centerway. After investigation, they found a passenger of the car possessed metal knuckles, which are illegal in New York State.

As a result, 45-year-old Michael Petix, who police say is also a convicted felon, was charged with one count of criminal possession of a weapon.

Because of his criminal record, Petix was sent to the Steuben County Jail without bail until his appearance in city court at a later date.
