BATH, N.Y. (WENY) -- Former Addison Village Clerk and Treasurer Ursula Stone was in Steuben County Court on Wednesday. Stone is accused of stealing more than $1 million from Addison over a 19-year period.

Stone’s appearance was brief this afternoon. Her attorney John Alden Stevens and Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker met before the judge to discuss scheduling as both sides prepare for trial.

As WENY News previously reported, Stone was indicted back in November of 2023 on 192 felony counts including Grand Larceny, Money Laundering, Public Corruption, and Falsifying Business Records, among other charges.

Authorities said Stone filed false documents to cover up stealing funds from the Village of Addison between January of 2004 and April of 2023. In total, she is accused of stealing more than $1.1 million.

After Wednesday’s appearance, District Attorney Baker said more time is needed to resolve issues regarding motions in this case.

“We have this appearance today which was supposed to be for arguing the motions,” District Attorney Brooks Baker said. “We had adjourned it initially to get motions done. They had adjourned several times to file them...what they filed were very lengthy motions. So, I asked for some additional time in response. We ended up with today’s date and we need more issues resolved before we can argue motions.”

Stone’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 29th. She remains free on bail.
