The Corning boys basketball team improved to 4-7 on the year after picking up a solid win at home over (6-5) Owego Wednesday night, 41-32. The Hawks had their best defensive performance of the year in the first half, giving up just 6 points.
Prattsburgh Boys Pull Away from Bradford Behind Mason Putnam's 42 Points
It was a back and forth first half between Prattsburgh and Bradford in a clash of Section V heavyweights Wednesday night, but 2,000-point scorer Mason Putnam racked up 42 points on the night as Prattsburgh pulled away from the Braves, 79-59.

#3 EC Women's Hockey Goes Off for 11 Goals in Trouncing of Alvernia
The 3rd ranked Elmira College Women's Hockey team had no issue getting past Alvernia Sunday afternoon as the Soaring Eagles put of 5 goals in the first and third periods to roll the Golden Wolves, 11-1. The win puts EC at 10-2-2 on the season.
Stevenson Men's Hockey Snaps Elmira College's 8-Game Winning Streak
The Elmira College Men's Hockey team saw their fantastic 8-game winning streak come to an end Saturday night as they fell to 14th ranked Stevenson, 5-1 at the Murray Athletic Center. During this streak, the Soaring Eagles had 3 wins over top 15 opponents (#10 Utica, #2 Suny Geneseo, and #15 Oswego State). EC will be back home next Friday, January 24th when they host King's College.
#3 Elmira College Women's Hockey Avoids Upset to Stevenson
The 3rd ranked Elmira College Women's Hockey team found themselves trailing, 1-0 going into the final period against Stevenson Saturday, but Morgan Mordini and Emma Crocker notched a couple late goals for the Soaring Eagles to avoid the upset, 2-1 the final. EC will be back in action at the Murray Athletic Center Sunday at 3 PM when they host Alvernia.
Strong Second Half Leads Avoca Boys to Big Win at Bradford
Big matchup in Section V Friday night as the 9-2 Bradford Braves boys basketball team hosted 10-1 Avoca. The Tigers led by 15 at the half, but then outscored Bradford 44-13 in the second half to win it 89-43 and move to 11-1 on the season.
Elmira's DeMember-Shazer Grabs 1,000th Career Board in Win Over Johnson City
The Elmira girls basketball team topped Johnson City 74-45 in a game that raised money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on Thursday night. The night became even more special when Elmira's Zaria DeMember-Shazer grabbed her 1,000th career rebound.
Horseheads wrestling took down Corning 60-17 for the STAC West title on Wednesday night.
The North Penn-Mansfield boys basketball team held a 24-15 lead at the half over the NTL Large School Division leader Wyalsuing, but the Tigers were unable to hang on in the second half as the Rams squeak by Wednesday night, 51-49. Wyalusing is now 12-1 on the year while NPM drops to 7-6.
