Tioga football advanced to their third straight NYSPHSAA Class D State Championship game with a 63-16 win over Clymer/Sherman/Panama. The Tigers will face Stillwater next Saturday at noon at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse.

Elmira College Women's Hockey picked up a 3-0 win over 11th-ranked SUNY Cortland and the Elmira College Men's Hockey team upset 5th-ranked SUNY Geneseo, 6-2. Nicholas Domitrovic recorded a hat trick for the Soaring Eagles.

Horseheads boys basketball wins thriller vs rival Corning to stay undefeated
Rivals Corning and Horseheads boys basketball went head-to-head in a battle of unbeatens as the Blue Raiders win a thriller, 70-68. Jeremy Truax led the Blue Raiders with 26 points while Amauri Truax scored 21. Isaiah Henderson and Jackson Casey each scored 22 and Logan Booker added 21 for Corning.

Elmira College Men's Hockey falls just short of 8th-ranked SUNY Geneseo
After falling behind 3-0, the Elmira College men's hockey team rallied with two goals in the second period but were unable to put any more on the board as the Soaring Eagles fall just short to 8th-ranked SUNY Geneseo on Tuesday night, 3-2. Elmira is back in action on Saturday when they host SUNY Brockport at 7 PM.

Olean Oilers sweep Hornell Steamers to capture NYCBL Western Division Championship
The Hornell Steamers' season came to a close on Wednesday as they fell to the Olean Oilers 14-2 in game 2 of the NYCBL West Division Finals. Olean advances to the NYCBL Championship series vs the winner of the Cortland Crush and Syracuse Spartans.

Pioneers sweep Pilots to edge closer to a playoff spot
Elmira beat Newark 3-2 in game one, and 14-2 in game two of Friday's doubleheader. The Pios are tied for 5th in the PGCBL, and the top four teams make the postseason. The Hornell Steamers also edged closer to locking up the 2 seed, beating the Oilers 7-2.

Summer Collegiate Baseball: Pioneers drop 9-1 contest to Muckdogs, Steamers fall in game 1 of West Division Finals
The Elmira Pioneers entered Tuesday just a half-game back of a playoff spot in the PGCBL, however, they dropped a 9-1 contest to Batavia. In the NYCBL, the Hornell Steamers fell in game one of the West Division Finals series, 13-2 vs Olean.

Pioneers rally to beat Red Wings
The Elmira Pioneers beat the Geneva Red Wings 10-8 on Wednesday. The Pios took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but Geneva responded with 9 in the bottom half. Elmira chipped away for the win and remain in the hunt for a playoff spot with 3 games left.
