Changes in barometric pressure can wreak havoc with those that suffer from arthritis.  Migraine headaches could also be triggered by barometric pressure.  This graphic shows you when we can expect the most significant changes in pressure over the next week.  Right now it looks like the largest pressure change will occur leading up to Thanksgiving as a storm system passes through the region.

High pressure to our south Thursday will result in a few breaks in the overcast here in the Twin Tiers.  Temperatures will also end up a bit warmer with highs in the upper 40s.  Low pressure will approach from the west Thursday night with the chance for a few showers.  The showers will taper Friday morning followed by clearing skies through the afternoon.

Low pressure lifting up along the coast will keep our skies mostly cloudy tonight with lows near 30.  Farther to our east, a light wintry mix will develop with a light glazing of ice possible.  Locally, we can't rule out some patchy drizzle or flurries, but any precipitation will be light.  Slightly warmer conditions are expected towards the end of the week.

Warmer Temperatures Ahead

After a couple of days with sub-freezing high temperatures, warmer conditions are likely to wrap up the workweek.  We're expecting highs Thursday and Friday into the low and mid 40s.  A cold front will briefly drop temperatures on Saturday, followed by more 40s heading into early next week.  Normal high temperatures for this time of year are in the upper 40s.
