Annual Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure
ELMIRA, N.Y.(WENY)-- Sunday morning, streets were shut down and blocked off for the annual Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure in Downtown Elmira. Over 2,000 people were in attendance between participants and volunteers who came out to show their support.
9th Annual Seneca Lake Wine and Food Festival
WATKINS GLEN,N.Y.(WENY)--Saturday was the 9th annual Seneca Lake Wine and Food festival held in Clute Park in Watkins Glen. This large event hosts almost all of the Seneca Lake wineries and includes a lot of the different restaurants and food trucks that are in the area.
Color the Valley 5K
ADDISON, N.Y.(WENY)-- Saturday morning, the Valley Early Childhood School held their "Color the Valley 5K" color run in support of raising money for their programs. Teachers and volunteers took time out of their Saturday to either participate in the run or help spray the runners with colors!
Livingston Correctional Facility among NYS prison closures
Right now, the prison has 806 inmates, and more than 327 people working there. In a statement, the Department of Corrections says the new state budget authorized the closure of up to 3 facilities. The affected facilities were selected after a review of several factors, including, infrastructure, program offerings, and proximity to other correctional facilities.
