
Book Fest 2025 Returns May 10 to Wisner Park in Elmira
The Reading Partnership of Chemung Valley will host its 2025 Book Fest from 12PM - 3PM on Saturday, May 10 at Wisner Park. The event features local authors, performers, art, and a sailplane in line with this year's theme - Up, Up and Away with Books!

Elmira Downtown Development to Host 2025 Taste of Downtown
The annual tasting event will be held on April 2nd at Empire Sports at 304 N. Main Street in Elmira. Tickets are $30, and include samplings from food and beverage vendors. The event helps support the Elmira Street Painting Festival in June.

New Visions Honors Academy Students Bring Former FDIC Chairwoman to Area
Sheila Bair, a former chairwoman of the FDIC, is coming to the Southern Tier to speak with elementary school students about financial literacy, sharing her stories from "Money Tails" - teaching money lessons to children.

The Southern Tier Chapter of the American Red Cross Service to Armed Forces Committee will host a Military and Veterans BBQ on Saturday, August 12th, starting at 11AM. Vets and military can enjoy a free meal, and learn about programs and resources.

The Southern Tier India Cultural Association will host its 2023 India Day on August 12th, which is a celebration of Indian traditions and culture. The event will be held in Centerway Square in Corning, from 4 - 8PM.

Corning's Gaffer District has a full calendar of summer events, from its weekly farmers market, to Cruisin' Community Night on July 28th, and Bites on Bridge Community Night on August 25th, in partnership with Wiliams Toyota.

Catholic Charities of Chemung and Schuyler Counties is helping to raise awareness of the issue of domestic violence, by hosting a community fundraiser at Friday's Elmira Pioneers game on July 14th.

The Pathways fundraiser, in partnership with B&W Towing, brings 30+ construction, fire trucks, cranes, police cars, and more for the 6th annual event. The event is $5 per person, or $20 per family, located at lots C & D at SUNY CCC in Corning.
