SULLIVAN TOWNSHIP, Pa (WENY) -- Sixteen-year-old Paul Girolamo's life was cut short after police say he crashed his vehicle into a telephone pole.

The accident happened around noon on Saturday, at the intersection of Bungy and Ashley Hill Roads. 

Officials tell WENY News, the Waverly teen was traveling north on Bungy Road when he lost control of his vehicle and hit the phone pole.

Girolamo attended Waverly High School where he played football, basketball, and baseball and was also a member of the National Honor Society.

We're told the Girolamo was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Calling hours will be Tuesday at Blauvelt Funeral Home from 1 pm to 3 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm.
