HORSEHEADS, NY (WENY) --  It is estimated that for each individual with Alzheimer's disease, it takes at least three caregivers to assist them around the clock.

Next week, the Alzheimer's Association is offering a caregiver retreat for those who take care of a loved one with the disease.

There will be educational talks, back massages, lunch, bonding with other caregivers and keynote speakers -- all for free!

The event is designed to be an informative and relaxing "day-off."

The Alzheimer's Association will also provide respite care to ensure people who want to go are able to attend.

"The day club at Bethany village opens their doors every single year and welcomes people and if somebody cannot make it to the day club at Bethany Village, we will provide somebody in home," says Marleah Denkenberger, Southern Tier Program Coordinator for the Alzheimer's Association.

The event takes place November 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Horseheads Elks Lodge.
