CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- A special Corning town board meeting was held Wednesday night to discuss the fire contract with the Gibson Fire Department. The meeting was held with town board members, as well as the board of commissioners from Fire District #1. Town officials say their problem with the department lies with not having adequate records of personnel training from the department. Even though at times the meeting got heated between members of the department and board members, they were able to come to an agreement.

"The agreement that the board has made with Gibson Fire district commissioners is in the next thirty days they're going to get us further training records so that we can show, if a taxpayer comes in, saying, 'Yes we're meeting those conditions of the contract,' said Corning Town Supervisor, Kimberly Feehan. "I will be getting them their contracted monies."

Feehan says she looks forward to moving on from this and working together with the department.
