Throughout the day today, peeks of hazy sun will make way to scattered showers at times. Some showers embedded within the cells may contain thunder and lightning. The Storm Prediction Center has the area under a slight risk for severe activity (a 2 on a scale of 1-5). Some thunderstorms may be stronger than others. Expected heavier rain, higher rainfall amounts, the chance of small hail and breezy winds in the strongest storms. Activity will be very scattered today ahead of a cold front moving towards the Twin Tiers from out west. Expect highs to stay in the 80s, rising near 82 with humid conditions.

Tonight clouds will remain, as well as the chance for rain and thunderstorms. Lows are expected to stay in the upper 50s and lower 60s, with winds out of the southwest blowing at about 5 to 10 mph.
