ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - An annual fishing derby to support a local non-profit was held Friday afternoon at Eldridge Park in Elmira.

The Fishing Derby is hosted by "Able2 Day Habilitation Program" every year and is a way for the non-profit to kick off the summer season. The event has been celebrated for more than a decade and this year the public was invited to join Able2, for some fishing as well as building new relationships!

"The guys really like to be out and do recreational activities, it also helps with their self-esteem. It builds relationships with our community that we really need to do and its just fun," said Terri Reed, Day Services Supervisor at Able2.
