Heat Advisory Saturday Afternoon Through Monday

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the entirety of New York State from noon time Saturday through Sunday until 10PM Monday night. Expected high temperatures and high levels humidity will rise Heat Index Levels above 100°, ranging anywhere from 105-110° during peek heat times.
A prolonged heat wave will start on Saturday, intensifying Sunday and Monday. Hot and humid weather is expected to continue through much of next week as well. During times of peek heating be sure to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, sit in shaded areas out of the sun and check up on relatives or neighbors periodically.
Take extra precautions, if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency, call 9 1 1.
