Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 8PM Wednesday night for the Twin Tiers and southern most Finger Lakes.

As of 5:24AM Tuesday morning, A flood advisory and Flash Flood Warning have already been issued. More may be issued by the National Weather Service through the day. Be prepared for flooding across the area, especially if your neighborhood is prone. Recent showers and thunderstorms continue to saturate the soils in the watch area. Today through Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall rates are likely in the watch area. Additional rainfall due to training of showers and thunderstorms could result in several inches of rain which would lead to flash flooding.

In addition, minor flooding may occur along the main stem rivers, but this is mainly a flash flood event for small streams, creeks and urban areas. A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
