Today the Storm Prediction Center has included western portions of the Twin Tiers and Finger Lakes in a Slight Risk Zone for severe thunderstorm potential. This is at level 2 on a scale of 5. Through the afternoon stronger storms have the potential of developing once a warm front lifts through the area. The biggest threats do include gusty winds and heavy rain, as well as thunder and lightning.

With heavy rain possible for the area, some who are prone to Flash Flooding may experience some poor drainage and small stream/creek flooding as a result. We will update you with any Watches or Warnings that may be issued. Now gusty winds are also a threat, causing trees to tumble down, taking power lines with them. The risk for an isolated tornado is not out of the question, but the risk level is low as of now especially further east.

Tonight showers will continue to be possible with lows near 66.
