HORNELLSVILLE, N.Y. (WENY) – The New York State Department of Transportation announced Interstate 86 eastbound between Exit 33 (Almond) and Exit 34 (Hornell) will be closed from about 7 in the morning until 7 in the evening on Tuesday, October 9.

The road closure is in order to allow crews to complete paving up to the bridge that carries I-86 eastbound over County Route 65 and the Norfolk Southern Railroad.

During the closures, drivers traveling eastbound will leave the highway at Exit 33 (Almond), travel 21 North to Hornell, then State Route 36 North to Exit 34 (Hornell) where they will continue onto I-86 East.

Drivers may also encounter flaggers and lane shifts and should prepare for delays.
