LANSING, N.Y. (WENY) – A Lansing man is facing animal cruelty charges after he allegedly killed a woman's pet rabbit.

According to New York State Police, troopers were dispatched to a gas station in Lansing on October 34 to speak to a victim who claimed 24-year-old Seth Decker threatened to harm her pet rabbit and another person.

The victim told police Decker was angry after an argument. He allegedly told the woman he would put her rabbit inside the microwave at a residence on Lockerby Hill Road.

Another person who was in the home says they watched Decker put the rabbit in the microwave and turn it on; he then allegedly threatened that other person.

Decker then left the area; when troopers arrived on scene, they located the rabbit dead in the microwave.

Troopers in Auburn later located Decker on October 25 in Locke. He was arrested and charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. He was sent to the Tompkins County Jail on $2,000 bail.
