Recap: Chemung County Legislature to Consist of 12 Republicans, 3 Democrats
Chemung County, N.Y. (WENY)-- With Republican Chemung County Executive-elect Chris Moss set to take his seat in January, a Republican-heavy Legislature will join him.
Of the 15 districts in the County, 12 of them are represented by Republicans, 3 by Democrats. The Legislature is also welcoming eight new faces to the table. New to the legislature is Republican Mark Margeson (5th), Democrat Christina Bruner Sonsire (7th), Republican John Burin (9th), Democrat Robert Briggs (11th), Democrat Bill McCarthy (12th), Republican Scott Drake (13th), and Republican Michael Smith (14th).
Seven Districts reelected their current representative. Republican John Pastrick Jr. (1st), Republican David Manchester (2nd), Republican Tom Sweet (3rd), Republican Joseph Brennan (4th), Republican Brian Hyland (6th), Republican Peggy Woodard (9th), Republican Martin Chalk (10th), and Republican Rodney Strange (15th) are all keeping their seats.
The new Chemung County Legislature will take their seats in January.
