Another arrest made in Hornellsville kidnapping incident
HORNELLSVILLE, N.Y. (WENY) – A Bath man is behind bars after he was arrested following a kidnapping incident from October.
According to New York State Police, troopers from the Wayland, North Hornell and Bath barracks responded to a report of a robbery at Seneca Manor Apartments in the Town of Hornellsville.
The 31-year-old victim reported he was tied up with bed sheets and threatened with deadly physical force.
During the initial investigation, Deangelo Phillips, 19, of Rochester, was arrested and charged. Friday, another arrest was made in the case.
Additionally, 35-year-old Detric Marshall of Rochester was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession ofa Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.
Police say a Steuben County Superior Court Warrant was executed on Richard Vanorden, 41, of Bath. Vanorden was charged with kidnapping in the second degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, two counts of robbery in the second degree, two counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Vanorden was sent to the Steuben County Jail on $50,000 bail.
