Chemung County pair facing weapon charges
SOUTHPORT, N.Y. (WENY) -- Two Chemung County residents are facing weapon charges after police say they found a handgun during a traffic stop.
The Chemung County Sheriff's Office says they arrested 28-year-old Sean-Michael Waid of Southport, and 26-year-old Deanna Lecuyer of Horseheads.
The Sheriff's Office says they stopped the car on Saturday in Southport for traffic violations. After searching the car, deputies allegedly found a .45 caliber handgun.
Waid was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon. Lecuyer was charged with with a misdemeanor. Waid was sent to jail on $25,000 bail. Lecuyer was given an appearance ticket.
