(WENY) -- After a New York State Trooper was injured after his patrol car was rear-ended near Syracuse. New York State Police want to remind the public once again of the state's Move Over Law.

The crash happened on interstate-81 on Wednesday morning. Troopers say a woman from Endicott rear-ended a patrol car that was stopped to help a driver who was having car troubles.

The Trooper suffered neck and back injuries, but has since been released from the hospital. The driver who hit the Trooper's patrol car, was treated for an arm fracture. She was ticketed for violating the move over law.

As a reminder - the law requires all drivers to move over for any car or truck that has any type of flashing emergency or caution lights. This includes yellow lights, which are used by tow truck drivers and construction workers.
