Police seize $12K worth of meth at Tioga Downs Hotel
NICHOLS, N.Y. (WENY) -- New York State Police say they arrested a man after they say he received a package containing a large amount of meth while staying at the Tioga Downs Hotel in Nichols.
Troopers say they arrested Michael Champlin of Camillus New York, after an investigation revealed that the package contained meth. The package was sent to the hotel on January 3rd. After getting a search warrant for his hotel room and car, Troopers say they found 10 ounces of crystal meth in the package, and more meth and other drug paraphernalia inside of his car.
NYSP says the street value of the seized meth was pegged at $12,000.
Champlin was charged with one count of felony attempted possession of a controlled substance. He was sent to the Tioga County Jail without bail.
