ALBANY, NY (WENY) -- Gov. Cuomo is warning residents across the state of potential ice jams and flooding as rain and warmer temperatures move across the region.

On Friday the governor began urging local governments to take action.

State agencies are monitoring for potential ice jam and deploying assets as needed, preventing and mitigating damage. 

The Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services has created a list of steps you can take at home, keeping your family safe in the event waters do begin to rise.
