CORNING-PAINTED POST, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Corning-Painted Post Area School District is partnering with the Steuben County Sheriff's Department and other agencies to hold a safety planning session Thursday morning.

The Steuben County Sheriff's Department's Critical Incident Response (CIRT) team will tour CPP High School and Middle School Thursday morning. Officials say this will allow the CIRT team to see the schools in session and better plan a response in case of an emergency.

Officials say this is part of the district's ongoing partnership with local law enforcement to make schools as safe as possible.
