Two Elmira men arrested after chase, police say
SOUTHPORT, N.Y. (WENY) -- Two Elmira men were arrested after allegedly leading police on a short car chase, that ended in a foot chase Wednesday morning.
The Chemung County Sheriff's Office says it happened when they tried stopping a 2019 Chevy Pickup on Clemens Center Parkway in Southport around 11:30 a.m.
Police say the car chase came to an end on Catherine Street in Elmira, before both suspects tried running away.
22-year-old Brandon Allwood was charged with unlawful fleeing, possession of a controlled substance, and reckless driving, among other charges. The Sheriff's Office says 22-year-old Gregory Brown, also of Elmira, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Allwood was sent to jail on $1,000 bail. Brown was given an appearance ticket.
