Woodstock 50's future hangs in the balance
HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- With the scheduled Woodstock 50 anniversary at Watkins Glen International fast approaching, Billboard now says some of the artists have not written the event off.
According to a recent report, three major talent agencies representing the bulk of the headliners plan on letting co-founder Michael Lang make his next move before officially saying whether the performers are in or out.
Late last month, financer Dentsu pulled out of the event effectively canceling the music festival.
An earlier report stated Lang needed to raise $30 million by Friday in order to stage the show.
