OWEGO, N.Y. (WENY) -- After getting multiple 911 calls of a suspect walking in the parking lot of a elementary school in Owego with a rifle and a silver pistol, police responded, and Troopers say they arrested a teenager when that teen came walking out of the woods.

Troopers say the teen was not carrying a real rifle or handgun, but instead realistic looking BB guns. The incident happened at the TJ Watson Elementary School in the Town of Owego around 6:45 Wednesday night. Troopers say the 17-year-old suspect, who is not being named, was arrested and given an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of a weapon on school grounds.

The teen is due back in Owego court later this month.
