CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- People on Market Street in Corning braved the rainy weather to show off their rides in the 14th annual "North American Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky" meeting.

About 135 cars from all over the country, including Canada, took over the Gaffer District on Thursday.  Last year, the group used Blackhawk, Colorado as their meet-up point.

Organizers say they enjoyed their visit, and the area left a lasting impression on them.

"This is the first time I've ever bee out to western New York, the people have been very friendly and very helpful. One of the neat things about the fact that it moves around like I said, is that no two parts of the country are exactly alike, and so, Corning has been absolutely beautiful. I've kind of been surprised by some of the beauty of what we've seen," said Chris Brinkley, who's part of the event organizing committee.

The organization also raises money from their members to support a local charities. This year, one of the charities include the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
