OWEGO, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Owego Apalachin Central School District revised budget has been approved.

The original budget proposal failed at the end of May.

District residents headed to the polls yesterday to cast their vote on the 2019-2020 school budget of $47,761,210.  It cuts about $170,000 from the original budget.

The budget had an increase of 2.27% and a tax levy increase of 2.83%.

Had the revised budget also failed, the district would have to implement a contingency budget that would fund only teacher salaries and bare basic expenses, cutting extracurricular activities and other programs.
