PAINTED POST, N.Y. (WENY) -- Corning-Painted Post Airport will undergo major renovations to improve facilities.

This comes as Representative Tom Reed announces a $344,700 grant to provide the Town of Erwin Industrial Development Agency to execute the project.

Since the Town of Erwin IDA acquired ownership of the airport, they have received several grants, each to improve safety and help the airport become an economic innovator in the area.

Grant funding comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the planning and development of public-use airports.

Reed says the money will help ensure the efficiency of operations at Corning-Painted Post Airport.
