NEWFIELD, N.Y. (WENY) -- A Tompkins County man is behind bars after a state trooper recognized him for having an outstanding warrant.

Kurtis R. Stone, 27, was leaving a gas station in Newfield on July 14 at about 5:09 p.m. when the trooper stopped him.

During the traffic stop, the trooper found Stone in possession of two controlled substances and marijuana.

She was arraigned in the town of Ithaca court where he was on $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond on a bench warrant, and an additional $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond on charges in the town of Newfield. He was then transported to the Tompkins County Jail.
