We are heading into August and climatology August and September are the most active tropical weather months. Right now the National Hurricane Center is watching an area of storms near Puerto Rico. This area of unsettled weather has a 20% chance of development over the next 5 days. Although chances are low as of now, when it moves into the Bahamas conditions turn more favorable for tropical development.
That is not all! Out in the open Atlantic there are two healthy waves located under a plume of Saharan dust, and if they can stay dodge this dust as they travel towards the Greater/Lesser Antilles we will need to be on the lookout for future development.
