Suspect identified and behind bars following Williamsport homicide
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (WENY) -- Following an extensive search, the suspect accused of fatally shooting a woman in Williamsport has been identified and captured.
On Sunday night, Williamsport Police Officers were dispatched to the Unimart on Fourth Street,in reference to an attempted robbery and shooting. When they arrived, they discovered that two people had been shot. The female store clerk was wounded and taken to UPMC for treatment. Officials say a female patron was shot and killed by the suspect, who allegedly fled the scene on foot.
Officers were not able to track him down during an hours-long search.
But yesterday, two police officers found the suspect sleeping in Sheetz convenience store and helped take him into custody.
The suspect is identified as Ikeem Fogan, age 21, of Williamsport.
He is charged with criminal homicide, criminal attempt, homicide, robbery, and other related charges.
Fogan has been taken to the Lycoming County prison and committed there without bail.
