CORNING, NY (WENY) -- This Saturday, August 31st, the Corning Museum of Glass will be hosting their annual Adopt a Glass Pet Day. Catherine Labonte will be on hand and running the event on Saturday.

She will be customizing the glass pet of your choice, and will be holding a glass blowing demo beginning at 6 p-m where she will be reproducing a glass penguin.

We spoke with Meghan Bonnell, Buyer for CMOG Glass Shops about what the event is about, "Catherine will be here signing the pets. So you can adopt a pet it's a really fun event. You can choose the pet of your liking and then Catherine will customize the pet for you, put its name on it, you'll get adoption papers. It's a really fun event, you get to meet the artist and be part of it."

Every year the museum gets new collectors of all ages and this is the fourth year of the event. Also, on Sunday Patrick Primeau will be giving a demonstration from 6pm-730pm. He was a contestant on Netflix's mini series "Blown Away."
