PAINTED POST, N.Y. (WENY) -- Despite the dreary weather, Wednesday marked the annual motorcycle ride for the Nation of Patriots in Corning. Usually the Arkport-Corning Harley Owners Group (HOG) leaves from the I-86 rest stop past Painted Post to go to the Jamestown Harley Davidson. Unfortunately, with the rain, a few participants will be going by car. In Jamestown, the Binghamton Harley Davidson will pass the Nations of Patriots Flag to the Jamestown dealership. The non-profit looks to raise money for veterans and their families around the country, including here in the Southern Tier.

"We have gotten money from them every year that we've done it and we supported some local veterans," said Arkport-Corning HOG director, Paul Simonson. "Last year it was somebody here in Corning that we gave money to that they needed for home repairs. So it's all to support the military veterans and their families."

The flag ceremony in Jamestown was supposed to happen around noon on Wednesday. From there, the flag will be taken to Erie Pennsylvania where another ceremony will be held.
