Harrisburg, PA (WENY) - Governor Tom Wolf is initiating a review of science standards in the state as an effort to modernize curriculums and better prepare students for their futures.

Therefore, the Department of Education in Pennsylvania will start to update science standards as a way to align them with current research.

Governor Wolf said in a statement, "as technology continues to advance, science is increasingly part of our education, work, and lives in a changing economy." Wolf's goal is to make sure all students in the state have the knowledge and skills to walk out of school with good careers in different industries.

The Department of Education is working closely with the state board of education to make this move.
