ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Fresh foods made from local ingredients, more than 100 people got just that for the annual "Taste of Chemung" event in Elmira on Thursday night.

The event was held at the Community Arts of Elmira, and the food was served by students from the culinary program at GST BOCES. The ingredients for the food came from local and regional farms. To help people at the event wash down all of the tasty foods made with local ingredients -- beverages were provided by local breweries.

Andrew Fagan, the Executive Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chemung County, said, "In this event, it's very special, we source ingredients for our dinner from local farms, and we highlight them on the menu, and also on the buffet. So when people come up to sample the dishes that are prepared, they get to see where their ingredients come from, from their local neighbors."
