ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) – There's still time before the holiday season, but applications are already open for “Cops, Kids and Toys” through the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office.

The event is for children in need who are younger than 19-years-old.

People who are looking to apply must be the parent or guardian of the child and their children must reside in and/or attend a school district in Tompkins County.

To be eligible, you will need an email address, phone number, address for delivery, ages/birthday of children and ideas of gifts. The sheriff's office cannot promise any specific gift, but the ideas will be used to help deputies shop. Video games and gaming systems will not be given, and bikes are only given if we receive them as donations.

Those signed up for the Salvation Army drive may not also sign up for Cops, Kids and Toys.

Questions and concerns can be directed to info@copskidsandtoys.org or call 607-379-1215.

The application is only being accepted online these year. It is due on December 1 and gifts will be given out on December 17.

The application can be found here.
