New Planned Parenthood facility open in Corning
CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes has a new facility now open in Corning.
The two-story, 4,500-square-foot clinic is now accepting new patients.
The location on West William Street replaces the previous location on Walnut Street.
Unlike the former clinic, the new facility will have the ability to conduct in-clinic abortions, according to the Director of Development for Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes.
It will also function as a sexual assault resource center, and will offer health education programming.
The new building cost about $4 million to renovate, and was funded with the help of financial contributions from the community.
