CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) – This week's adoptable pet at the Chemung County SPCA is BB. BB is a 2-year-old cat. She has been with the SPCA since the beginning of May. Arynn Brucie, with the SPCA says since BB has been with the shelter for a while now, she hopes for her to soon find a home she fits into. Brucie says BB is a “sweet cat” but prefers not to be held. After reflecting on BB's coping mechanisms, Brucie believes it would be best if there were no other cats in the house she lives in.

The spay neuter clinic attached to the SPCA is still underway. Although everything with construction seems to be going smoothly, Brucie says there will be one issue. Brucie says parking can be limited. She wants to warn visitors to keep this information in mind. The clinic is expected to open the end of the year.

The free rabies clinic hosted by the SPCA is coming up in just a few weeks. The clinic is set to be held at the Ernie Davis Community Center on October 26th. It begins at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m. The center is on East 5th Street in Elmira. Dogs, cats and ferrets are welcome to get vaccinated at no cost.
