TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y.(WENY)-- TCAT will be operating route 13FM on Sunday, October 12th, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. to the Ithaca Farmers Market. This route is being offered to Cornell University students and the general public for those who rarely get the opportunity to get to the farmers market on the weekends.

This route is only being offered Sunday the 12th, but the General Manager who oversees TCAT's operations hopes to be able to make it a regular route starting in Spring of 2020.

WENY News had the chance to catch up with a few Cornell University students to find out if they were going to be taking advantage of this one day only route. When asked, many of the students were shocked because it was their first time hearing about it. Some were aware and said they would like to try to make it down between their studies. But overall, the students were excited for this opportunity because it gives them a chance to see another part of Ithaca and shop local.

"Well I haven't been yet at all, so it's pretty convenient that the bus is going to -- has spot that will be one stop. It will make it much easier, especially because it is so difficult to go as a student with out a car," Nour Mourra told WENY News. "It would definitely be a good break from the classes and the craziness of Cornell. So yea, it would be pretty beneficial to us students," said Mourra, Student at Cornell University.

The Ithaca Farmers Market is a great place to get a lot of shopping done when it comes to groceries, presents, snacks and more. All of the vendors at the market are local and have an array of items that are not commonly found at other markets.
