ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Do you want to prove you have the best Halloween costume, and for a good cause? You can do just that on Saturday at this year's Walk to End Alzheimer's.

The event takes place at Eldridge Park on Saturday, October 19th. Registration and check-in is at 8:30 a.m. with the walk beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Halloween contest begins at 9:30, where registered walkers can show off their spooky costumes! If you're costume is voted the best, you'll win a 25-dollar Target gift card!

Right now, the Elmira event is at 50% of its fundraising goal at $30,000. Funds raised during the event go towards continued care for those living with Alzheimer's disease, caregivers, and further medical research to hopefully one day find a cure.

There are 300 participants registered for this year's Walk, with plenty of space still available. For additional information about the event, including how to register as an individual or team, click here: https://act.alz.org/site/TR?fr_id=12575&pg=entry
