BEGWS customers could still see dirty water following water leak in Bath
BATH, N.Y. (WENY) -- A water leak that prompted Bath Electric, Gas and Water Systems (BEGWS) to temporarily shut off water has been repaired. But you should be careful the first time you run your water.
The leak happened yesterday on Elm Street, affecting those on Elm, Liberty, and Buell Streets.
It was repaired later in the day, and restoration work followed.
Customers on those and neighboring streets could still have dirty water.
When you turn it on, BEGWS says to run cold water -- not hot -- for 15-20 minutes until the water has cleared.
