(WENY) -- A bill introduced in the New York State Senate aims to allow families of those killed by guns in New York to sue the killer for pain and suffering damages.

The legislation would also provide legal resources for parents, children, and other loves ones for the grief and suffering they endured as a result of the violent and sudden loss.

In this week's edition of Counsel's Corner, Christina Sonsire, Partner at Ziff Law Firm, weighs in on the proposal and current laws regarding wrongful death lawsuits.
